Washington Christian Academy
This multi-phase project by Forrester Construction of the Washington Christian Academy, an independent Christian K-12 school, included more space to accommodate its growing enrollment. The first phase of this project involved the site development of 17 acres, a new academic building, gymnasium and two athletic fields.
The construction of the grand hall of the academic building featured ceramic tile floors, vinyl wall coverings and a grand stair with a large opening in the center of the room. Stairs treads are pre-cast terrazzo units. Other features in the building were faux wood beams in the dining and entrance halls. Chandelier lights were also installed in the media center, grand hall and dining hall to accentuate the high ceilings in these areas.
The structure is composed of masonry and steel joists and the skin of the building is multi-colored brick and cast stone with large arched windows.
