US Naval Academy Hubbard Hall
Forrester Construction was chosen to provide design-build services in support of the complete restoration and modernization of the US Naval Academy Hubbard Hall. A three-story boat house, Hubbard Hall is the historic home and training center for the Naval Academy’s crew teams. Since the structure was originally built in 1930, the design needed to comply with the state historic preservation requirement to maintain the original exterior façade. The project included installation of a state-of-the-art indoor rowing tank and a refurbished shell bay area. Renovations to the trophy and presentation room, new exercise areas, meeting rooms and coaches’ offices were also included in the full-scale building upgrade. Construction work included hazardous material abatement, interior reorganization, repairs to the existing building and building enclosure, complete replacement of all HVAC, MEP and A/V systems and repair and expansion of the existing wharf and floating shell launch docks.
