Nexstar Broadcast Studio
This project consists of a 23,000 SF renovation and expansion on two floors of Nexstar WDCW headquarters in Washington, DC. The renovation involved combining new and existing partitions to the walls and offices and installing new finishes, fixtures, and HVAC equipment. The third floor received an extensive renovation and expansion of the Owner’s current office space and a partial renovation to the employee break room and other common areas. It now houses offices and suites consisting of TV transmission equipment, servers, and telecom equipment, while the newsroom and news studio now encompass the first floor and will host the local news broadcast.
The facility includes offices, suites, production areas, and studio space. The renovation involved combining new and existing partitions to the walls and offices and installing new finishes, fixtures, and HVAC equipment. The tech core on this floor will house the TV transmission equipment, servers, and telecom equipment, and ultimately a second studio will join this floor. The first floor, previously a gym, received a gut and rebuild. The prominent feature is the newsroom and news studio, which now encompasses the first floor and will host the local news broadcast.
