National Cathedral School | Procter Hall
The National Cathedral School is an independent college preparatory school for girls with more than 550 students in grades four to twelve. Forrester Construction has completed several successful projects for this repeat client, including a phased renovation of several campus buildings. In this phase, Forrester fully renovated the 26,000 square foot National Cathedral School | Procter Hall to provide more administrative office space; add performing arts studio, a library and a teachers’ lounge; and enhance common areas. Interior work included installing high-end millwork finishes in corridors and classrooms, and building a new grand staircase in the entry way. This staircase joined two structures with different elevations to provide access to Procter Hall’s new library. The building exterior was also refreshed with new windows and façade elements.
During construction, Forrester’s project team made it a point to support the client’s educational mission. They offered students regular seminars relating to the ongoing work. Sessions focused on STEM topics in architecture, engineering and construction and included tours and other hands-on learning opportunities.
