Forrester Construction Provides Food to the Capital Area Food Bank
Rockville, MD – On Friday, December 17th, Forrester Construction provided the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) with 3,730 pounds of food. According to the Capital Area Food Bank, 1.3 pounds is equivalent to one individual meal.
For the past 22 years, Forrester Construction has always been committed to giving back to the communities in which they work and live. To foster these efforts, Forrester’s Community Involvement Committee provides a platform where Forrester Team Members can participate with a variety of charities and goodwill efforts throughout the year. This year, the Committee chose to support the Capital Area Food Bank’s mission to alleviate hunger in the Washington, DC community.
Forrester’s Team Members were challenged with a goal to collect 2,000 pounds of food in time for the holiday season. Not only was this goal achieved, but it was almost doubled. This exemplifies Forrester’s core values, “Through Teamwork We Do the Right Thing to Make it Happen™”
“We are in the midst of challenging times. The need for the Capital Area Food Bank and our partner agencies is greater than ever,” said Lynn Brantley, President and CEO of the Capital Area Food Bank. “This generous donation will enable us to nourish the thousands of families, children, and individuals suffering from hunger in our community.”
“We know that this donation managed by the Capital Area Food Bank will reach the right people during this holiday season”, said David Forrester, President of Forrester Construction. “It is the cornerstone of Forrester’s values to give back to the community by supporting organizations who are dedicated to improving the lives of others within our community. Our Team Members worked as a team to provide a donation that should have a significant impact on the efforts of the Capital Area Food Bank.”
