Yuma Study Center
This 45,000 SF project, by Forrester Construction, involved the renovation of an existing building and a substantial addition to support the Yuma Study Center’s continued growth. Since the original structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, preserving the structure’s historical character while performing necessary upgrades and modernization was of utmost importance. Wood window, plaster and leaded glass restoration and hazardous material abatement were among the challenges in maintaining the historic features.
The completed project adds new educational spaces, executive meeting rooms, living quarters, two libraries and two chapels to the building. Improvements to the site also increased surface parking, landscape and hardscape upgrades, new utilities infrastructure and an onsite storm water collection tank.
