Southern Regional Aquatic Wellness Center
Fort Washington, MD
This recently completed project, designed by DLR Group, is now open to the public! Within the new 14,000 SF aquatic center, three beautifully constructed and finished pools of varying temperatures are featured, including a leisure/lap pool, therapy pool, and a spa. This project won a Washington Building Congress Craftsmanship Award for Ceramic Tile and Terrazzo (R. Ganassa Tile Co) and an AGC of DC Washington Contractor Award. Check out this video of their grand opening!
Dulles South Recreation and Community Center
South Riding, VA
Completed in 2018, this 109,000 SF facility provides aquatic, recreational, and senior activities for the community. The project included the construction of a 50-meter competition pool with a moveable bulkhead and elevated bleacher area for observers. An 81,000-gallon recreation pool features a 125 ft water slide, children’s play area, vortex, hot tub, and more. Designed by HGA Architects, this project earned a NAIOP Northern VA Award and a Washington Building Congress Craftsmanship Award for Special Construction (Swimming Pools).
Warrenton Aquatic and Recreation Center
Warrenton, VA
Designed by Grimm + Parker Architects and completed in 2007, this project features an 11-lane indoor competition pool, a therapeutic spa, and a leisure pool with a water slide, lazy river, vortex, and zero-depth entry for easy accessibility for toddlers, seniors, and those in wheelchairs. This project received a NAIOP Northern VA Award of Merit.
Germantown Indoor Swim Center
Germantown, MD
In 2005, Forrester completed a new 63,000 SF facility, designed by Hughes Group Architects to accommodate national competitive swimming and diving events, instruction, and recreational activities. The project included the construction of a 25-meter, competition pool featuring a world-class diving tower and four driving platforms. The facility also housed a shallow leisure pool with interactive water features like slides, water umbrellas, and tumble buckets. Additionally, ceiling-mounted water slides as long as 200 feet begin on the platform level!
Not only did these projects create places for people to cool off during a hot summer day, but a place to learn water safety, compete, and come together as a community. Forrester has extensive experience building pools for both public and private clients. We’ve built and renovated pools for country clubs, schools, gyms, and more. Other notable projects that include an aquatic scope of work include Wakefield High School, Jill’s House, Sibley Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing, Trinity College, multiple VIDA Fitness projects, and more.
